About me

Deborah Malster MA, BSc, Dip, MBACP (Accred)

I am an experienced qualified  psychotherapist and counsellor and have experience of supporting adults, older adults and young people (16-24) from various cultural and social backgrounds within the NHS, private, public and voluntary sectors since 2001 and as a counsellor since 2010. I have worked with clients in many areas such as trauma, depression, anxiety, bereavement, acute, chronic and terminal illness, disability, sexual health, sexuality, identity, low self-esteem, altered body-image, low confidence, bullying, relationship issues, abuse and work concerns.

I am an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, which means I work from various approaches, however my philosophy is primarily existential; helping people find a meaningful way to live, relating with others and the world, with uncertainty and anxiety.

I work for the NHS and have a small private practice.

I supervise individuals and groups within the NHS and private practice.

I am an accredited and registered member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
